Wood Types in This Collection
Ebony and striped ebony
Ebony is the darkest and densest wood finish in the Roroos range — near-black grain with a smooth, close-pored surface that requires no additional finishing to look polished. It suits modern interiors and pairs well with stainless steel or dark-dialled watches. The Retro Single Ebony Winder for Rolex and the striped ebony Dark Warrior series are the most-reviewed models in this collection. Striped ebony uses the same base wood with a lighter grain contrast running along the case — a more traditional cabinetry aesthetic without changing the material quality.
Walnut and rosewood
Walnut produces a warm brown tone with a visible, open grain — closer to furniture wood than the dense finish of ebony. Walnut cases work well in study or dressing room settings where the winder sits among books, leather goods, or warm-toned surfaces. The Walnut Z-Style with Piano Lacquer adds a high-gloss lacquer coat over the walnut exterior, stepping the finish closer to fine furniture than standard watch winder cases. Rosewood produces a reddish-brown tone with a finer, straighter grain than walnut — the warmest-coloured option in the collection.
Retro solid wood series
The retro series uses solid wood construction with a deliberately traditional case shape — curved edges, brass-tone hardware, and a proportion that references earlier European watch box design. The Retro Solid Wood Single Winder is the most straightforward model in the entire collection: one slot, 650–1,800 TPD bidirectional, built for a Rolex or any standard automatic movement. If you want a solid wood watch winder that looks like it belongs in a study rather than a tech store, this is the starting point.
Choosing by Capacity
Single and double wooden watch winders start from $249 and suit collectors with one or two automatics in regular rotation. Quad wooden winders cover four independent slots with individual TPD settings — practical when you own both a Rolex at 650–800 TPD and a Breitling or IWC with different winding requirements. Six-slot and larger wooden cabinets start from $859 and are built for permanent display rather than occasional storage — the case becomes part of the room. Use the TPD settings guide to confirm the correct parameters for your specific movements before ordering.
