Union Glashütte watch winder direction and settings

Aug 20, 2021

In 1893, Dürrstein founded his own watch manufacture in the watchmaking town of Glashütte. To prove his competence in watchmaking, Johannes Dürrstein assigned the master watchmaker Julius Bergter to build a particularly complex watch about 1900, which even surpassed the Grande Complication, which used to be the most successful calibrator to that date. With its 18 complications, the watch has been considered the most complex watch in the world. Since the 1990s, Union is part of Glashütte Original, which focuses on the strengths of the long-tradition brand.

Luxury Watches by Union Glashütte are manufactured only with the finest materials: precious gold, PVD coated stainless steel and high-quality leather are refined with sophisticated details such as diamonds or pearly dials. These timepieces just look beautiful and can be worn at state occasions as well as casual events in everyday life. Technically, they have the manual windings calibre 40 and calibre 45, the "Johannes Dürrstein 3" with a flying tourbillon specifically developed for the edition "Johannes Dürrstein". Classic characteristics of the watchmaking stronghold Glashütte like the swan neck regulation or compensation balance are also represented in the luxurious products by Union Glashütte.

Most Union Glashütte watch self-winding movements can be wound properly by most watch winders. Usually Union Glashütte’s self-winding movements need to rotate 650 - 800 revolutions per day, and most of them can be wound clockwise. So please take some time and like to choose a cute clockwork that suits you and your watch. Each watch is a work of art, a unique specimen.

If you could not find your watch model (or caliber) in this table, you may determine your Union Glashütte watches. winding mode on a trial basis. You should select the combined winding mode (CW+CCW) and the minimal number of turns per day (TPD). Then place your watch into the watchwinder and check after a few days how accurate your watch shows the time. If it runs behind, it is necessary to increase the number of TPD by one step.
