In 1999, Omega joined hands with independent watchmaker George Daniels to replace the coaxial escapement on the basis of ETA2892, and launched the first-generation coaxial escapement movement 2500. In 2007, Omega launched a fully self-produced coaxial escapement movement 8500, and in 2008 adopted a silicon hairspring.
In 2013, Omega first launched the anti-magnetic 15,000-gauss coaxial escapement movement 8508. Two years later, Omega joined hands with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology to launch METAS certification. It can be said that the coaxial escapement has been upgraded many times before it has been upgraded to the master chronometer movement that is now the main force of Omega.
Omega's Master Chronometer watch has passed eight strict tests, and it has obtained the METAS certification of the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology.
