May 18, 2021

Bedat & Co is a Swiss company founded in 1996 by Simone Bédat and her son Christian Bédat. By the time the company was founded, Simone already had 50 years of experience in the high-end watch industry and was a co-owner of the famous Raymond Weil brand. After graduating from business school in Lausanne, Christian Bédat led the production of Benetton timekeeping devices in Hong Kong. After a couple of years, he returned to Switzerland, where he headed the advertising and promotion department at Raymond Weil.

Since its foundation, Bedat & Co brand has set a course for the production of opulent women’s wristwatches, thereby occupying a free niche in the market. Most brands are focused on creating men’s collections, and women’s models are usually smaller copies of male versions. Topnotch timepieces created explicitly for female connoisseurs immediately interested the beautiful half of humanity. The first Bedat & Co collection was released a year after its establishment and was presented at the annual Baselworld exhibition.

In 1998, the company opened official points of sale in the United States. In 2000, Simone and Christian Bédat decided to sell 85% of their shares to the Italian fashion house Gucci Group. At the same time, the founders remained at the helm of the company. This decision helped Bedat & Co to enter the European market. Shortly before the first anniversary, both founders left their own company, selling the remaining stake to Gucci Group. In 2009, the brand passed into the hands of Luxury Concepts Timepieces. However, the high-end watches of this brand are still manufactured in Switzerland. Today, Bedat & Co is represented on four continents.

Most BEDAT & CO. watch self-winding movements can be wound properly by most watch winder boxes. Usually BEDAT & CO.'s self-winding movements need to rotate 650 - 800 revolutions per day, and most of them can be wound clockwise. So please take some time and like to choose a cute clockwork that suits you and your watch.

If you could not find your watch model (or caliber) in this table, you may determine your BEDAT & CO. winding mode on a trial basis. You should select the combined winding mode (CW+CCW) and the minimal number of turns per day (UPT). Then place your watch into the watch winder and check after a few days how accurate your watch shows the time. If it runs behind, it is necessary to increase the number of UPT by one step.
