Askania AG has a strong connection to its past. Their watches embody Berlin, aviation, and seafaring. There's the Tegel, which is dedicated to the capital city's main airport, and the Elly Beinhorn, which gets its name from the record-breaking pilot.
Askania is rightfully proud of its accomplishments in the field of aviation timekeeping. The Taifun collection was hence created to give due expression to these achievements. The story of how the collection got its name is particularly interesting.
Although Askania also has quartz watches in its repertoire of more than 50 different models, the Taifun collection relies on purely mechanical movements. With the ASKANIA calibre 4062, the automatic chronographs of the Taifun collection use the ultra precise ETA Valjoux 7750, which is modified in-house according to the brand’s own quality standards and adjusted to chronometer standards.
Most Askania watch self-winding movements can be wound properly by most watch winders. Usually Askania's self-winding movements need to rotate 650 - 800 revolutions per day, and most of them can be wound clockwise. So please take some time and like to choose a cute clockwork that suits you and your watch.

You should select the combined winding mode (CW+CCW) and the minimal number of turns per day (TPD).
