Generally, the straps of watches are too long when they leave the factory. When getting a new watch, the first step is to adjust the length and size of the strap. How to properly adjust the strap? How to avoid doing it yourself without damaging the watch?

Different straps have their own adjustment methods. To adjust the length of the strap, the common watch adjustment tool is the watch adjuster.

However, the method described below does not require a meter adjuster, just some simple tools (thimble, 1mm screwdriver, long nose pliers (smooth jaw), small hammer, accessory tray, tape measure, magnifying glass (optional)) can be achieved.

The first step is to measure the strap, loop the retractable strap around the wrist, and see how many sections overlap each other. Adding one section on this basis gives the number of strap sections we want to remove. (ps: The disassembly method of this strap is the easiest)

pull the edge of the surface of the watch strap apart

Then remove the cover on the edge of the surface layer. Put the watch strap upside down on the table, find the part you want to remove, and pull the edge of the surface of the watch strap apart.

remove the cover on the edge

Then flip open the cover on the bottom edge. Flip the strap over and do the same to open the layer that covers the edge of the strap. When you open the lid on the edge of the top layer, you will naturally see the lid on the bottom layer.

Then remove the excess strap links and gently slide the strap links outward so that the part you want to remove can be easily separated.
