How to Adjust the Pin Bracelet Watch Band of a Steel Band Watch
First remove the strap from the dial. This is a particularly important step for metal straps.
The detailed operation is as follows: Take off the raw ear (that is, the steel rod) that connects and fixes the dial and the strap. When you do not know which raw ear to take, hold the clasp with your left hand and remove the raw ear on the left. Use a raw ear tip or thimble against the raw ear, squeeze one end, and pry the other end out. At this time, be careful not to lose the unripe ear, because there is only one unripe ear.
Then find the section of strap you want to remove. Generally speaking, the back of the strap usually has arrows printed on it. In the direction of the arrow, use a raw ear piece or a thimble to push out the pin that fixes the strap section. Push the pin out 2~3mm, then use long-nose pliers or hands to remove it from the other end. Put the removed pins in the accessories tray, and you will use them later when you reattach the strap.
Pay attention to the metal hoops in the strap section. Not all watch bands have metal hoops. It is usually located at the connection between the strap sections, and when the peg is removed, it will also fall out. So pay attention and keep it carefully for use.
Remove the other pin on the strap section. Again, use the method described earlier, so that you have two pins in your hand. Or add two metal hoops.
Remove the strap on the other side of the clasp in the same way. After removing the excess straps according to the predetermined number, you can start reinstalling.
Reinstall the strap. After dismantling the strap, we need to use the pin that we just took out to put the strap back in. At this time, the pin should be installed in the opposite direction of the arrow. If your strap has a metal ferrule, put the ferrule back where the strap connects, and then insert the pin back into the hole. Note that the pin should fit with the metal hoop. If necessary, use a small hammer to gently tap the pin back into the hole.
Connect the dial and the strap. Just put it back up in the same way you removed the dial. But be careful not to install the strap and the raw ears backwards or wrongly.
Try on the refitted watch. If the number of watch sections is not wrong, then the size of the watch strap should be just right. If it's still too big, you can continue to dismantle it. If it's just a little tight or a little loose, it can be fine-tuned by changing the position where the ear is fixed. Take care to save the removed strap knuckles, pegs and ferrules for emergencies.
